The Mactrap Grease Boss EasyClean G30 is an electromechanical grease removal unit designed for underbench use in commercial kitchens. Wastewater passes through a removable front filter basket before fat, oil and grease (FOG) rises to the surface. A rotating roller collects the FOG, a wiper transfers it to an external disposable container, and programmed hot-water and pump-out cycles help limit internal grease and sediment build-up.
Choosing the Right EasyClean Model
Low-inlet, higher-flow model for deep-sink installations. Final selection must be based on measured peak wastewater flow, sink outlet height, available pipe gradient, connection size and the requirements of the local trade-waste consent. The Grease Boss is intended for intermittent commercial-kitchen sink flow rather than unrestricted continuous discharge.
Installation Requirements
- Install underbench with clear access for the front filter basket, top lid, FOG container and future servicing.
- Provide 240V electrical power that can be readily isolated.
- Connect a constant mains-pressure hot-water supply at a minimum of 45°C with suitable backflow prevention.
- Maintain the specified 50mm inlet/outlet drainage and a minimum 1:40 fall on outlet pipework unless the hydraulic design requires otherwise.
- Keep dishwasher and glasswasher discharge downstream of the Grease Boss.
- Confirm venting, trap arrangement and trade-waste approval with the project plumber or hydraulic designer.
Daily Care and Servicing
Kitchen practice directly affects performance. Scrape plates, pots, cutting boards, flour and sauces into the rubbish or compost before washing; never pour fryer oil or solids into the unit. The filter basket should be checked and cleaned daily, the external FOG container emptied as required and the wiper area kept clear. Do not use caustic degreasers through the Grease Boss. Arrange an initial full clean at approximately three months, then set a 3-6 month service interval according to sediment load and trade-waste conditions.

Compliance and Warranty
The Grease Boss range has been independently tested for NZBC G13 applications. Mactrap states a five-year warranty for impermeability, fitness for use and structural stability, plus a one-year manufacturing warranty, subject to correct installation, operation and scheduled servicing.
