Confirm the exact motor base, container size, lid and blade-base system before ordering; Vitamix components that look alike may have different safety collars or SELF-DETECT requirements. Small cups and bowls are not for hot liquids. Never reach beneath blades while a container is on the motor base, and use scrapers only after switching off, unplugging and removing the container.

Choose the vessel by both task and motor-base compatibility. Wet containers pulverise and blend liquids; dry-grains containers create a reverse vortex for milling and dough; the Aer Disc whips, foams, muddles and emulsifies without conventional puréeing. A 0.9L jug suits small recipes, 1.4L is the everyday middle size, and 2.0L suits family batches. SELF-DETECT Ascent parts and Explorian/Classic parts are not universally interchangeable, and small cups or bowls may require a separate blade base.
